ISN is proud to announce the next World Congress of Nephrology (WCN) will be taking place in Cape Town, South Africa from March 13-17, 2015.

WCN 2015 is an International Society of Nephrology (ISN) event hosted by the South African Renal Society (SARS) in partnership with the African Association of Nephrology (AFRAN) and the Renal Care Society of South Africa (RCSSA) and is supported by the International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA).

WCN 2015 continues to promote the themes of “Sustainability and Diversity” which are increasingly relevant to all countries around the world. The commitment of ISN to the global advancement of nephrology is recognized in the scientific program, which includes topics addressing practical, social and economic challenges across diverse nations. Key scientific themes will include: Infectious and non-infectious risk factors; Acute kidney injury (AKI); Translational and clinical nephrology; CKD and its consequences; and  Dialysis and transplantation.

ISN’s biennial World Congress of Nephrology (WCN) is the premiere educational event in nephrology, which rotates between continents and is organized in collaboration with local and regional nephrology societies. The congress is targeted to the international nephrology community as well as other healthcare professionals involved in multidisciplinary nephrology care, thus enabling professionals from all parts of the world to exchange views on a wide variety of topics affecting nephrology and those suffering from kidney disease around the world.

By bringing together practicing physicians, academics, scientists, international health authorities and clinical researchers, each Congress offers a unique global forum for a free exchange of science and medical strategy and is aligned with local and regional reflections under the overall congress theme.

WCN aims to advance the education of physicians and other professionals, support the development of renal research, and facilitate the delivery of high-quality healthcare worldwide. Since ISN’s first congress in 1960, WCN has provided vital guidance and support to advancing nephrology around the world.

This edition of the World Congress of Nephrology will not only deliver the most recent innovations but also state-of-the-art knowledge that is relevant and adapted to renal care practice throughout the world where delegates benefit from practical, practice changing and concrete takeaways.
