ISN WCN Travel Grants 

The WCN 2015 organizers are pleased to offer a Travel Grants Program for ISN members to attend the WCN. To submit an Travel Grant Application please click below.

The Travel Grant submission deadline is October 27, 2014.

The Travel Grant will consist of a reimbursement of travel cost up to a certain amount (see below), include registration to the Congress, cover a maximum of 4 nights’ accommodation at a hotel selected by the organizers on the basis of sharing a room as well as a complimentary entry ticket to the optional social event (Saturday March 14).

The Congress will offer a maximum contribution towards the travel costs to Cape Town based on economy class travel, first class train tickets and appropriate ground transportation. The available funding, if booked early, will be enough to cover the full travel expenses. Travel Grants recipients are encouraged to book early ONCE ACCEPTED and to not leave booking to the last minute.

Maximum amounts of contribution are based on the following:

  • From North America - A maximum reimbursement up to 1,750 USD
  • From Europe, Russia CIS & Middle East - A maximum reimbursement up to 1,250 USD
  • From Asia - A maximum reimbursement up to 1,250 USD
  • From Oceania - A maximum reimbursement up to 2,000 USD
  • From Africa - A maximum reimbursement up to 750 USD
  • From South America - A maximum reimbursement up to 2,000 USD

Reimbursement will be made in cash (USD) at the Congress in return for completed expense claim forms and copies of invoices/tickets/boarding passes.


Important Information

PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER FOR EARLY BIRD RATE if you are submitting a Travel Grant Application! Should your Travel Grant application be unsuccessful, you will still be eligible to register at the discounted early bird rate after the results are announced.

The Travel Grants are restricted to ISN members, past/present ISN Fellows and SRC participants with priority given to nephrologists who apply from countries with low and middle economies (as per World Bank criteria). Priority will be given to ISN members from developing countries with an abstract accepted to WCN2015. If you are not currently an ISN member but wish to apply for a Travel Grant please join the ISN via: www.theisn.org/join before applying for a Travel Grant. ISN membership does not automatically guarantee acceptance of Travel Grant.

No more than 3 travel grants can ever be allocated to any one individual. Therefore, please note that applicants who have already benefited from 3 ISN travel grants to attend a WCN in the past will not be eligible for this round.

If you wish to receive a letter to support your visa application, don't forget to submit/send a scanned copy of your passport as part of the submission process.
